OUR HISTORY
Tom Stewart Plumbing is a multi-generational company that was established in 1972. The company was originally started by my father, Tom Stewart Sr. Tom Stewart Sr started his plumbing company with a 1970 Gremlin and a small trailer. He bought his first sewer machine when his first job came in.
Slowly as my father’s business grew, he began to be the go-to guy in the southern Oakland County area. Often, he was referred by the local inspectors and city officials to residents of Ferndale, Oak Park, Berkley, and Royal Oak. He was known for being able to open drains when no one else could. His determination and work ethic led to the continued growth of his company.
By the mid-1980’s, I began apprenticing with him during my summer breaks, weekends and even after school. After I graduated in 1987, I begin working full-time with my dad’s company. This is where I learned my work ethic and most of my plumbing skills.
As the years passed Tom Stewart Plumbing & Drain has grown to take on larger jobs and clients while still sticking to its roots of being your neighborhood plumbing company. We have expanded our coverage area to include the tri-county area of metro Detroit, while still striving to stay focused on customer satisfaction that my father instilled as the top priority when we began 51 years ago.
